The Probus Club of Trent Hills, a social club for local retired and semi-retired people, meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at St. John’s United Church Hall in Campbellford at 10:00 am.

Guests are welcome to join us for refreshments, socializing and a speaker.   You will also be able to see other activities the Club has planned for the fall.

The speaker on October 11th will be  Diane Crossway.  She will discuss the book “The Forgotten Home Child” by Genevieve Graham.

Diane’s father-in-law was one of those children so she is speaking from her own personal experience.

She will tell us about the “Home Children” migration scheme that was started in 1869 where British children who had been “abandoned or orphaned” were sent to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa for a better life.
