Sunday is now the big day
Cobourg festival organizers have indicated that the Cobourg Sandcastle Festival has been moved to Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Due to the high risk of thunderstorms on Saturday August 12, the Cobourg Sandcastle Festival, including the inflatable fun park and amateur competition, will be moved to Sunday, August 13, a release says.
When to watch the sandcastle pros at work
The Master Sand Sculptors will build their sculptures as planned on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12. If weather permits, people are welcome to walk the beach to observe these artists at work. Sculptures will be protected by tents to ensure they can be enjoyed for the festival on Sunday.
Free rides to the event
Free shuttles will be running on Sunday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from the Northumberland Mall and Cobourg Community Centre to the Cobourg Beach.
Movie in the Park moved to Sunday
The movie in the park will also be moved to Sunday evening due to inclement weather. Bring your snacks, beach chairs, blankets and bug spray and enjoy watching The Sandlot on the inflatable big screen in Victoria Park right by the Bandshell. The movie will begin at sundown, approximately 8:30 p.m.
