The month to celebrate diversity
Pride Month brings Cobourg together to celebrate the history, courage, and diversity of Cobourg’s Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer, and Questioningcommunities (2SLGBTQ+).
We encourage community members to reach out, connect to support each other and celebrate together.
An annual flag raising ceremony is held and seen as an opportunity for the community to show solidarity, promote dialogue, and strengthen our collective commitment to inclusivity.
“This flag raising ceremony is a powerful symbol of our commitment to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for our community,” says Yasmyn Belle, Town of Cobourg Accessibility, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator.
The Town is committed to addressing the unique challenges facing 2SLGBTQ+ communities to build a more inclusive and equitable Cobourg.
