100 Golfers Showed Up

Habitat for Humanity Northumberland raised over $12,000 at annual golf tournament

5th annual partnership Golf Tournament raised funds that are ear-marked for Habitat’s current build in Hastings and renovations to homes on Alexandria Drive in Cobourg.

“We are so pleased with the turn out for our event. A whopping 100 golfers participated in the 18-hole scramble tournament with lots of fun on course games, including the marshmallow longest drive.” says Community and Fund Development Coordinator Melissa Cranston. “We raised over $12,000 for our build program and we had a fun time doing it. The weather was a little dicey at times, but all the teams had a great round and finished off with a lovely dinner.”

Habitat is grateful for sponsor Matthew Ova, who not only sponsored but helped to organize the event. “Matthew lent his golf skills on hole number 8 with the “beat the big buy” challenge and presented the awards at the event. He also supplied prizes and silent auction items – he really did so much for us,” explained Melissa.

Additional sponsors for the event included Stacy Vermiere Remax Team, Jacqueline Pennington Professional Realtor, Part-Time CFO Services, Skateloft 2.0, Colour Concepts Decorating and Paint, Papa’s Pizzaland-Port Hope, Zoelle Plumbing, Local 397 Carpenter’s Union, Elite Sweets. Hole Sponsors included Tech’d Out Technologies, Lauria Auto Group, Brad Pemberton Golf, Premier Climate Services and Northumberland Tirecraft.
