Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation beneficiary
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, McHappy Day at 3 local McDonald’s outlets raised $15,205 for Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation.
“We are amazed by the success of local McHappy Day fundraising and feel truly honoured to have been chosen as the 2022 local recipient of this annual charitable event,” says Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation Executive Director. “McHappy Day really demonstrates how every dollar can make a difference and the impact our community can have collectively. We want to thank our new partners and the hardworking team at the Cobourg and Port Hope McDonald’s locations as well as our volunteers and community for their support.”
“Funds from McHappy Day will support NHH’s Maternal Child Care program,” shares Megan Fluxgold, NHH Foundation’s Community Engagement and Events Specialist. “Specifically, we had a goal to fund two Radiant Newborn Warmers and this goal was not only met but exceeded – it’s impressive!”
“In addition to the teams at McDonald’s, I want to give a special shout-out to our Foundation volunteers who joined us and brought their lively spirit to the event: welcoming customers at the door, greeting those in the drive-thrus, sharing information about our cause, and collecting donations,” adds Fluxgold. “We could not have had as much success without this dedicated group.”
An annual day of community giving across Canada, McHappy Day raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities as well as other local charities selected by individual franchisees. NHH Foundation was selected as the local charity of choice for 2022 by Cobourg and Port Hope locations.
