A young Port Hope man was struck and killed on Cockshutt Road in Norfolk County early in the day, Saturday May 14. The Ontario Provincial Police Norfolk County crime unit is investigating, looking for the unknown vehicle that struck Chad Everets, 20, and left the scene at about 5:15 a.m. that day.
“Police are asking anyone who may have seen Chad EVERETS or the suspect vehicle in the early morning hours of May 14, 2011, or who may have information about this investigation to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

The Port Hope Police Service continues to investigate the whereabouts of missing 29-year-old Madison CHARD who has been missing since the 19 th of April 2022. Madison has several tattoos including a distinctive tree of life tattoo on her left hand. Obstruct Police
On May 3 rd , 2022, Port Hope Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle bearing two different Ontario license plates, in the Ultramar Gas Station on Ontario Street. The male provided a name to the officer, where it was later learned that he provided false information. The male was arrested for obstructing police, Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle (x2), Owner Operate motor vehicle on a highway-no insurance and Drive Motor Vehicle -no License. The male was transported to the Port Hope Police Station where his identity was confirmed. He was later released on an undertaking and is to appear in court in June.
Public Intoxication
On May 11 th , 2022 at approximately 6:30pm, Port Hope Police received two separate complaints of a suspicious male walking along Peter St. Police responded and approached the male who was intoxicated. The male identified himself and admitted to consuming alcohol. Due to his level of intoxication, the male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The male was transported to the Port Hope Police Station and he was later released from custody.
Mischief
On May 10 th , 2022, Port Hope Police received multiple calls for a male throwing items in the road and vandalism on Ontario Street in Port Hope. When the police arrived, they witnessed a male exhibiting angry behavior, pacing back and forth on the street and yelling. When questioned by Police, the male admitted to throwing objects and knocking over a mailbox, which the police observed was knocked to its side. The accused was placed under arrest and charged with Mischief Under $5000. He was released on an appearance notice to attend court in June.
