Saturday, May 7, 2022, between 8am-1pm, the Cobourg Farmers’ Market will open for the first time this season at Cobourg’s Rotary Harbourfront Park at the foot of 2nd and Albert Streets in downtown Cobourg.
The market’s board and manager have been working closely with the Town of Cobourg staff and the HKPR Health Unit to ensure customers and vendors alike will experience a safe market.
According to CFMA Board Chair Lauren Quinto, “The 2022 Cobourg Farmers’ Market is gearing up for a phenomenal season! Our vendors are excited to represent some of the best of Northumberland’s produce, goods and artisanal wares. We are excited for you to join us this season around the oval! “
Opening Day Ceremonies will begin at 9:50 with Mayor John Henderson being piped from Victoria Hall to the Oval where a land acknowledgement will be offered. Cobourg’s colourful Town Crier, Mandy Robinson will then announce the ceremony. MP Philp Lawrence, Mayor John Henderson, Councillor Adam Bureau, and market president Lauren Quinto will speak.
Returning vendors in 2022 include Art Farm Produce, Bee Good Honey Co., Blue Barn Farm, Burnham Family Farm Market, Cardboard Reality Farm and Studio, Cedar Hedge Farm, Century Game Park, Cranbrook Farm Maple Syrup,
Doodoos Bakery, Dragonfly Design, Everyday Chef’s Best, Faye’s Embroidery and Sewing, Green Moxie/Taste Buds, Hunky Dory Smoked Fish, Jackson Family Farm, Moore Orchards, Northumberland Soapworks, Oak Ridge Shiitake, Ontario Cheese Union, Rice Lake Hard Cider, T’Netties Homemade Creations, Tap That Sap, The Urban Garden, William Street Brewery,.
New vendors this year include: Toller Pizza, Smashed Patties, Robin’s Nest Farm, Growing Good Co.
For the 2022 season, a monthly Artisan Market on the third Saturday of each month will be presented, featuring the Northumberland County’s makers: Knotty Niknaks, S&J Crafts, Our Alpaca Farm, Happy Beet, JRC 3D Prints, Meta Hoepfner, Everything Janny among many others.
The Cobourg Farmers Market has been a mainstay of the community in Northumberland County since 1839. The Market is committed to supporting locally produced and locally grown goods.
