OPP Charge Roseneath Man

Charged in relation to 2022 Death Investigation of Hastings Man

Trent Hills – Fri., Feb. 23, 2024 –  One individual has been charged in relation to a death investigation of a person reported missing in Trent Hills in September 2022.

On September 18, 2022, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located 22-year-old Travis NICKERSON of the Village of Hastings, who was reported missing on September 8, 2022, deceased in the area of County Road 18 in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

False information was provided to officers during the investigation and as a result, on February 21, 2024, Seth GRAY, age 35 of Roseneath, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Obstruction of Justice, section 139(2)
  • Obstruct Peace Officer, section 129(a)

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on February 22, 2024.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit conducted the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
