The 14th Monarch Tag and Release event, being held on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, from 10 am to 3 pm, is happening at Dorothy’s House Museum in Garden Hill, Ontario.
The annual monarch migration to Mexico is starting, and it’s time to remember Port Hope lepidopterist Rod Parrott, who was also co-manager for eight years with his wife Joan at Dorothy’s House Museum.
Monarchs tagged at this event in past years have been later recovered in central Mexico in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, adding to the long-term database at Monarch Watch, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas.
Admission is free.
