Trent Hills – Fri., June 30, 2023 – One of Canada’s fastest rising country stars SACHA, who is originally from Warkworth, is coming back to perform at Westben’s Willow Hill on July 8, at 7 p.m.

Speaking with Trent Hills Now, SACHA talked about some of her favourite memories of growing up in the village.

She told us that, “most of my formative years,” were spent in Warkworth where she attended Percy Centennial Public School. Her older brothers attended Campbellford District High School.

The family moved to Oshawa before her high school years, but she has been “back and forth” to Warkworth over the years.

She recalls going to the chocolate factory, the Santa Claus parades, the annual sugar bush festival and more.

All that time SACHA has been following her dream which began at a very young age. Her parents were musical and had a band and would perform gigs at the Legion in Warkworth she recalls.

“We had every instrument in our home, so everything musical was a part of my life from day one,” she said.

As a result SACHA plays guitar and piano. “I remember at first we had an old beat up grand back then,” she commented.

“I remember starting out… really where I got my feet wet was during the school tours, and my music is, well, basically my goal is to inspire people for music,” she said.

“I’m a big dreamer but at heart I am a small town girl and sometimes we faced lots of obstacles wondering how are we going to achieve all these big dreams coming from such small and humble beginnings,” she would ask herself.

She just kept at it and eventually her efforts paid off.

Making a name for herself since the release of her EP “The Best Thing” in July 2020, SACHA is now considered to be “one of Canada’s fastest rising stars”.

Becoming an iHeartRadio’s “Future Star” following the success of her latest single with The Reklaws, “What the Truck” (21 million+ global streams), SACHA has since been named as a member of CMT’s Next Women Of Country 2021 class and earned her first PLATINUM single alongside The Reklaws with that viral hit track which was the fastest-ever Canadian country song to go PLATINUM in history.

She performed the track alongside The Reklaws to close out the national broadcast of the 2021 CCMA Awards.

“Country CMT was a massive opportunity for me. It really opened up doors,” she commented.

SACHA talked about the big names she met along the way in her career particularly when CMT Next Women of Country invited her to be part of their alumni.

“That was pretty huge for me,” she commented.

“Last year I got to walk the red carpet and meet Carrie Underwood,” she added.

When asked if there was someone she felt inspired by, she said, “Taylor Swift is the reason why I went to Nashville.”

Adding to the excitement of performances in her career, SACHA is now looking forward to coming to Westben. This will be her first performance here and “It’s like a full circle moment,” she said.

When asked what she would like her fans and prospective fans to know, SACHA said, “Big dreams can happen to anybody that listens to music. I just want them to have hope that anything they’re passionate about is possible.”

After Westben she is headed to the U.K. where she will be performing at The Long Road Festival in August, 2023 in Bottesford.

When she’s not on stage SACHA says, “I love the outdoors. I like to go longboarding on the back roads.”
