Parker Traves Continues His Winning Ways

Some racers just have a feel for certain tracks. Parker Traves has a knack for finding a set-up that works for the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series events at Peterborough Speedway.
With a driver roster that was the perfect mix of youth and experience, close to 20 teams signed-in Saturday, June 3rd to tackle the year’s first date at the venue known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile Oval; a race that had been delayed by weather from its originally-scheduled date of Saturday, May 20th. With a 25-lap feature tilt on the agenda, Jordan Latimer and Dawson Drimmie brought the field to the green flag.
Even though he started 3rd – inside the 2nd row – it didn’t take Parker Traves long to make his presence known at the front of the pack. The driver of the No. 60 machine showed the fast way around the popular Central Ontario layout. Once he completed a pass for the lead coming-off the 2nd turn, Traves quickly found his racing legs.
With Dawson Drimmie on his tail, Traves set-off in a 2-car breakaway and had a strong lead through the closing stages of the event and scored the feature win. Drimmie, Jordan Latimer, Adam Cuthbertson and Cole McFadden completed the top 5. Jade Franklin, Mark Griffin, Zach Latimer, Josh Inglis and Paul Pierik finished 6th through 10th. Mitch Wright, Glen Morris, Matt Boyes, Steve Gareau, Caleb Drimmie, Jeff McKibbon, Sean Walker and Keaton Pipe rounded-out the running order.
Traves, Cuthbertson, Dawson Drimmie and Mitch Wright scored Canadian Legend Car Series heat race wins.
Canadian Legend Car Series Peterborough Speedway notes: Several racers were making their first ever Legends’ racing start at Peterborough, including Mitch Wright of Courtice, Ontario, Caledon’s Matt Boyes, 13-year-old Keaton Pipe from Whitby, Ontario and former APC Pro Late Model Series runner Jade Franklin…Sean Walker was a busy racer, running his No. 04 Canadian Legends equipment and a Peterborough Speedway Late Model.
The series next local event for the series is Saturday, June 17th at Sunset Speedway, with a Peterborough Speedway return slated for Saturday, June 24th. Parker Traves and Kevin Foisy will be heading to the Cook Out Summer Shootout events – June 12th and 13th – at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
