28th Alderville First Nation Pow Wow July 9 & 10

The Alderville First Nation POW WOW is back this weekend, July 9 & 10

Alderville First Nation Chief Dave Mowat issued an invitation on Facebook for people to come and celebrate with the residents of Alderville, noting that COVID-19 cancelled the annual POW WOW celebration in 2020 and 2021.

“The Alderville First Nation Pow Wow will be a go this Saturday and Sunday, July 9/10/22.  Host Drum – Burning Plains; Co-Host Drum – Oldstyle.  (The event takes place at) 5787 Roseneath Landing Rd….(with) Shuttle Bus (service) available from the Community Centre.  (Enjoy) Food and Craft Vendors; rough camping; WiFi  availability; water and power; and security,” he states.

There is to be the traditional Grand Entry parade around noon on both days.

This is the 28th annual Pow Wow.

Organizers are asking that people not bring pets, alcohol or drugs.

Admission is free to Alderville First Nation members is and all other admission costs are $6 for adults (ages 13 to 59) and $3 for children 12 to 7.
