County Road 18 accident

On June 11, 2022, at approximately 10:22 p.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Alnwick Haldimand Fire, and Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a fatal collision involving a car and an ATV on County Rd 18 and Roseneath Landing in Alnwick Haldimand.
A Go Fund Me fundraiser on Facebook has raised almost $7,800 of the $10,000 goal to help the family of a couple who died in an ATV/vehicle collision on County Road 18 near Roseneath Saturday evening, June 11.
The couple leave behind a four-year-old daughter.
The fundraiser has been organized by Melissa Johnston.
Larissa Danielle Cheri Hadley, age 27, of Quinte West and her boyfriend Harley Bond, age 26, of Cramahe, were on the ATV at the time and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Five charges, have been laid against James Hartwick, age 67 of Roseneath who was the other driver involved in the double fatality. He is alleged to have left the scene of the accident and was later arrested.
On June 11, 2022, at approximately 10:22 p.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Alnwick Haldimand Fire, and Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a fatal collision involving a car and an ATV on County Rd 18 and Roseneath Landing in Alnwick Haldimand.
As a result of the investigation, James HARTWICK (age 67) of Roseneath was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation causing death
- Operation causing death
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Fail to stop at accident resulting in death
- Fail to stop at accident resulting in death
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2022.
County Road 18 was closed from overnight Saturday until late Sunday morning between Roseneath Landing and Brook roads.
“The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on June 12, 2022,” states an OPP news release
